Business Description

Prototal is a provider of 3D print and injection moulding services for prototypes and low volume production of plastic components. The historical foundation for Prototal was laid within Electrolux, which acquired the first 3D printer in Europe as early as 1988.

Prototal has a wide client base, ranging from smaller start-ups to large Nordic industrial companies in a number of sectors, including medtech, automotive, aviation and industrials. The company has a flexible production model comprising several technologies and in-house production of aluminum moulding tools. With this breadth and flexibility, Prototal can deliver prototypes and small batches of complex components to a low cost within a short time. The vision is to become the fastest producer of plastic components in the world.

Prototal has approximately 500 co-workers and nine production facilities spread across the Nordics, UK, Italy and Austria: Jönköping (SE), Ystad (SE), Malmö (SE), Götene (SE), Levanger (NO), Taastrup (DK), Reading (UK), Civitanova Marche (IT) and Dornbirn (AT). The head office is based in Jönköping, Sweden and the company also has a sales office in Oslo, Norway.
