Open Air Group was created in 2016 with the ambition to become the Nordic online market leader within products for hunting and outdoor life. The group invests in, and develops, companies within the outdoor segment and has a strong focus on development of new proprietary brands and products. The company is active in Finland, Sweden and Norway. Open Air Group currently consists of eleven subsidiaries and brands, divided into three divisions:

Technology

In 2024, Open Air Group hunting tech specialists WeHunt, Tracker, and Burrel merged under one unified brand – Natlink, creating the largest hunting tech company in the Nordics with over 740,000 registered users combined.

Brands

Chevalier: Chevalier develops, designs and markets clothing and accessories for hunting and leisure under its own brand

Alaska Brands: Innovation and development of proprietary brands such as Alaska 1795 (hunting clothing), Burrel (hunting electronics) and Valio (canine nutrition)

Garphyttan: Swedish company with development, production and direct sales to end-consumer of outdoor, work and leisure wear. OAG is a minority owner in Garphyttan.

Aclima AS: a Norwegian specialist in functional and outdoor Merino wool clothing.

Retail

Widforss: Swedish and Norwegian online retailer of hunting and outdoor products.

Retkitukku: Finnish online retailer within hunting, dog food and other general outdoor products

Investment background

Retailing of hunting and outdoors equipment is still largely fragmented and relies on traditional physical retailers. A large potential exists in modernizing the industry and building an integrated product owner and online retailer.
